Nestled in the mountains of Niigata Prefecture, the town of Echigo Yuzawa was christened “snow country” in the novel of the same name by Nobel laureate Yasunari Kawabata. Masses of snow from winter melt slowly into the earth and absorb into groundwater some forty to fifty years later. During the long journey, the water is cleansed of impurities and charged with abundant natural minerals from the soil. The soft water that flows back up to the surface is a blessing of nature. It has a subtly sweet flavor that has been cherished for generations. This pristine water is pumped up and used as is, without heating or treatment, for producing sake at Shirataki Sake Brewery. Since our founding, we at Shirataki uphold the creed that quality sake is born of quality water.
On New Year’s Eve we sent samples of our Shirataki Jozen Sake to wine lovers throughout the United States as part of our House Party promotion. Here is some of the great feedback from customers who had never tried our Sake before!
Jozen sake was so light and a wonderful addition to our New Year's party. It is a nice refreshing taste. Some say to warm it, Jozen suggests serving cold. I haven't tried it warm yet but it is so nice!
This was by far the best sake I have ever tried...The taste was rich and warm all at the same time . I will definitely be buying for a lot for future parties and occasions
We received two varieties of Jozen Sake for our House Party and were so pleased. We love sake and enjoy trying new ones. This sake was so good! It has a dry fruity taste and it is very well balanced. We will be buying this one for our next sushi dinner!
Great Sake! Everyone loved the smooth, well balanced and dry fruit taste. I can't wait to pick up more to have on hand whenever I have people over.
This was a huge hit at my New Year's party! The 6 bottles I had went in the first hour! The taste was amazing and the after taste was just as good! Will be using this in future parties for sure!
I can't tell you how happy I was chosen to sample Jozen! The overall favorite at my party was the Jozen Aged Sake. It had a lovely fruity flavor with a nice clean finish which appealed to us white wine drinkers. The Jozen Rich 80% Sake had a much earthier flavor with hints of mushrooms which appealed to the people who like big, bold red wines. Overall both were a hit and we will definitely be buy Jozen Sake in the future!
What better way to start the New Year than with Shirataki Sake! My guests loved it and we'll definitely be buying more.
